The Orphan character is a personification of a state of desire. Deprived of the opportunity to feel any entitlement, the Orphan knows all experience through a continual state of want. For an individual experiencing the AofO, desire is twofold: firstly in longing to posess the Orphan, secondly in longing to be themselves wanting.
In order to explore how this desire manifests, we have developed a series of assignments in the creative process. Through the execution of these assignments, the complicated feelings of desire that are triggered by the AofO can be objectively realized and potentially cathartically released.
