Nature of Exercise
:
A Precarious Balance: support as a barometer for what is NOT the body of the child
 

Actors & Materials:
  • clay
  • teetering, wobbling, falling, injuring, balance

Step by Step Instructions:
Version A
  1. Assemble an object that requires a support and cannot balance on its own.
  2. Before it hardens, remove the supporting structing allowing the object to fall FAR and damage itself
    now, either:
    Try to reconstitute the wounded object to another support of some kind
    or
    Attempt to reposition the wounded object by finding its own point of balance separate from a support structure
Version B
  1. Construct an object out of one lightweight material that can easily self support
  2. Recast it in a material in which the weight distributes less evenly..
  3. How will it stand now?
